Injustice

Ecclesiates 4:1-3 says:-

Then I looked again at all the injustice that goes on in this world. The oppressed were weeping, and no one would help them. No one would help them because their oppressors had power on their side . I envy those who are dead and gone; they are better off than those who are still alive. But better off than either are those who have never been born, who have never seen the injustice that goes on in the world.

May the Lord bless the reading of His word.

Amen.

Satan plans to test Job

Job 1:6-12

When the day came for the heavenly beings to appear before the Lord, Satan was there among them. The Lord asked him, "What have you been doing?"

Satan answered, "I have been walking here and there, roaming round the earth."

"Did you notice my servant Job?"the Lord asked. "There is no one on earth as faithful and as good as he is. He worships me and is careful not to do anything evil."

Satan replied, "Would Job worship you if he got nothing out of it? You have always protected him and his family and everything he owns. You bless everything he does, and you have given him enough cattle to fill the whole country. But now suppose you take away everything, he has - he will curse you to your face!"

"All right," the Lord said to Satan, "everything he has is in your power, but you must not hurt Job himself." So Satan left.

What I have learnt from the above story:

* that Satan exists
* that God recognises our prayers
* that it is a good thing to worship God
* that God blesses us and everything we do
* that God cares for us and does not want us hurt
* that God has confidence in our faith

May the Lord bless the reading of the bible. Amen.

Hymn of Thanksgiving Isaiah 12: 1-4

A day is coming when people will sing,
"I praise you, Lord!
You were angry with me, but now you comfort me and are angry no longer;
God is my saviour;
I will trust Him and not be afraid.
The Lord gives me power and strength; He is my saviour.
s fresh water brings joy to the thirsty, so God's people's rejoice when He saves them. Amen
